Dr John Rippin
Dr John Rippin was a Senior Lecturer and honorary consultant in Oral Pathology who was passionate about dentistry and a popular figure with the students with whom he often spent weekends climbing in Snowdonia. As an Oral Pathologist, he was considered to be one of the best opinions.
He played a very influential role in shaping the dental course as Chair of Curriculum Development Committee and the Medical Sciences subcommittee. In retirement he maintained close links with the school and was a Chairman of the Sands Cox Charity.
Upon his death the Dental elective bursaries were re-named The Sands Cox John Rippin Memorial Prize for Best Dental Elective Report and the John Rippin Elective Bursary
