If you are planning a reunion of your year, are having problems contacting graduates or wish to hold part of it in the Medical School, it is best to start by contacting the Alumni Relations Office who would be pleased to discuss with you how the Medical School might be able to help.

The Alumni Office may also help you to arrange tours of the new facilities in the school and perhaps plan talks about the school and the new hospitals.  They could help you link to Venuebirmingham.com, the University Group which might help with accommodation, food and drink (0121 415 8400).

In addition to this The 30 Year Re-union Dinner is held at Staff House each year and is funded by the Arthur Thomson Trust.

 

Sir Arthur Thomson was a distinguished Birmingham graduate and Dean of the Medical School. He donated a considerable sum of his own money to set up a trust to benefit the Medical School and its students and required that the first call on the fund should be an annual reunion dinner for those doctors who had qualified 30 years before.

 

The Trustees invested the money and have set up a similar dinner for Birmingham Dental graduates.

 

The Dean and the Head of the Dental School host the events and their offices find and invite the graduates and their wives, husbands or partners. Hitherto the Arthur Thompson Trust paid the bill for all guests, but because of the increasing numbers of graduates, the Trust now asks those who attend to pay for their guests.

 

The thirty year reunion dinners are memorable and enjoyable - very special occasions.
